The Best Minute: How to improve, believing in God, and high quality work

2 QUOTES FROM OTHERS

I. Julia Cameron on how to improve:

“It is impossible to get better and look good at the same time.

Give yourself permission to be a beginner. By being willing to be a bad artist, you have a chance to be an artist, and perhaps, over time, a very good one.”

———————————

II. John Piper on believing in God:

“I am astonished at people who say they believe in God but live as if happiness is found by giving him 2% of their attention.”

2 IDEAS FROM ME

I. Completing tasks and assignments on time is part of the equation for high quality work. No one can be a high quality performer if they never finish their work.

———————————

II. Many regrets in life happen as a result of not pursuing something out of fear of what will happen if it doesn’t work out. In reality, even the worst case scenarios in our head aren’t as bad as we imagine them to be even if they actually happened.

I’m willing to bet many of the times you have failed, while not fun at the moment, weren’t as horrific as you imagined. So don’t let your fear of failure keep you from starting. Even if you do fail it won’t be as bad as you think.

1 INTERESTING FACT

Bananas grow upside down.

Or technically, we peel them upside down. Naturally, they grow outward from their stems, but that means their bottoms actually face the sky. As they get bigger, the fruits turn toward the sun, forming that distinctive curve.
