The Best Minute: On thinking, trusting God, and your workspace

2 QUOTES FROM OTHERS

I. Elon Musk on the importance of thinking:

“I don't believe in process. In fact, when I interview a potential employee and he or she says that 'it's all about the process,' I see that as a bad sign. The problem is that at a lot of big companies, process becomes a substitute for thinking. You're encouraged to behave like a little gear in a complex machine. Frankly, it allows you to keep people who aren't that smart, who aren't that creative."

II. Corrie Ten Boom on trusting God:

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”

2 IDEAS FROM ME

I. The quickest way to grow in your relationship with Jesus is to be more financially generous. Nothing causes you to trust God more than trusting him to provide.

II. Invest in your workspace. If you enjoy the environment you work in, the more productive you will be. Don’t be afraid to spend money on a proper desk, chair, whiteboard, or technology to help you do what you do even better.

1 RANDOM FACT

There is a reason you adjust the music volume in your car depending on how fast you are driving.

We turn the radio up when we drive on the highway and down when we are on side streets is due to the fact that those with normal hearing need sound levels to be nearly 10 decibels louder than background noise. This is referred to as the signal-to-noise ratio.

To bring about the change I want to see in my life, what long-term habits can I build instead of relying on motivation that comes and goes?
