💡 THOUGHTS FROM ME
I. Breakthrough happens by continually showing up.
It may not happen as you originally hoped or imagined, and it likely won’t happen on your original timeline, but it will happen.
The challenge then is to enjoy our success, even when it looks different from what you thought it might in the beginning.
Because if you don’t give up, you’ll still be much further along than when you started. And that is still worth celebrating.

II. Nearly everything takes longer than you think.
So get started and don’t worry about the clock.

Eric Hoffer on the importance of continuing to learn:
“In times of change, learners inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”
📖 1 BRIEF BOOK REVIEW
This book examines the period leading up to the Civil War, focusing primarily on what happened at Fort Sumter in Charleston, SC, and on Abraham Lincoln's election and inauguration.
You know a book is good when at its conclusion, you wish you could keep reading to see what happens next. Even with the book's length (500 pages), it held my attention the whole time.
I was even able to track with all the various people the book introduces, which can sometimes get confusing when reading books like this. So well done to the author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and learned a lot about the 6ish months leading up to the start of the Civil War. I'm really glad to have read it and would highly recommend it.
