💡 THOUGHTS FROM ME
I. If you currently feel stuck, are facing a major decision, or need to make a change in your life but are unsure what to do, ask yourself this question:
If I were the main character in a movie about my life, what would the audience be screaming at me to do right now?
We all know what it's like to watch a movie and see exactly what the main character should do, while the character seems completely oblivious to the obvious right choice.
It may not require a radical decision, but one simple change could completely shift your trajectory.
And guess what? You are the main character in the movie of your life. So, what does your movie-star self need to do?

II. In order to grow, you don’t need perfect routines. You just need consistent ones.
An amazing workout plan done three times a month will always lose out to a 20-minute plan done three times a week.
A 30-minute Bible reading plan done once a week will always lose out to 5 minutes every day.
An amazing date night with your spouse done once a quarter will always lose out to 10 minutes of connection every night.
So set smaller plans you can actually accomplish. Not only will they help you grow, but you also won’t have to feel guilty all the time for not hitting the ideal routine.
A little progress each day beats intense progress done occasionally.
💬 2 HELPFUL QUOTES
I. Susain Cain on what you need to grow:
"Reflecting on the past is a good way to fuel your growth, but dwelling on the past is a good way to inhibit it. Most people are inclined to either reflection or action. But we all need some of both.”
II. Marianne Moore on having the right perspective:
“I’ve made it a principle not to be over-influenced by minor disappointments.”
📖 1 BRIEF BOOK REVIEW
An encouraging and intellectually stimulating book on the credibility of the resurrection and how that gives us hope in the difficulties of life.
The book also does a great job connecting certain Old Testament and New Testament passages together to show how Scripture is a unified story that leads to Jesus.
I enjoyed the book, but it wasn't all new concepts for me given I read a lot of books in this area. I think it would be a great encouragement for the non-ministry person.
My rating would likely be higher if I hadn't spent a lot of time reading things like this over the years.
